There is no better way to experience Historic Yorktown than taking a stroll with a professional historian!
The British Inner Defense Line Battlefield Walking Tour will focus on the perspective of the Earl Cornwallis, the commanding officer of the British Army, when he occupied Yorktown on August 2, 1781. It will include the British Hornwork, the Inner Defense Line, the Outer Defenses, Secretary Nelson’s House, the Sorite on October 16, and, finally, the Waving of the White Flag and the Surrender on October 19.
*Meet at the National Park Service Visitor Center Parking lot by the flag pole to begin.
