Complimentary Backyard History Talk
Sunday, March 7, 2021
Celebrate Women’s History Month with this talk about The Women of Yorktown.
Tour guides Maureen Wiese and J. Michael Moore of Hampton Roads Tours will provide interesting information and insights not typically found in history books. In this talk, you'll learn about the first prominent woman from Coastal Virginia, Princess Matoaka, or Pocahontas. Just two years after her death in 1617, a significant number of women arrived in Virginia form England. The arrival of English women changed everything in the new world from family life and business opportunities to preserving our country's history.
Food and drinks will be available for purchase. A face mask is required to enter Mobjack Bay Coffee Roasters & Petite Café.
