The Best Way to Spread Christmas Cheer Is Visiting Yorktown This Time of Year!

Many people say that visiting Yorktown during the holidays is like walking into a Christmas movie. We agree! In the spirit of the season, see how many Christmas movie allusions you can identify below while learning about the fun things you can do with the entire family in Historic Yorktown.

It’s the most wonderful time of year, and we can’t think of a better place to celebrate the holidays than Yorktown. However, if you and your family are more like the Kranks or the Griswolds, don’t fret! We’ve created the perfect itinerary to keep the entire family happy. Nobody will be shooting their eye out with our family-friendly plan.

The first stop: food! We know that there are four main food groups: candy, candy canes, candy corn, and syrup. In Yorktown, we have that and so much more! Begin your day with a freshly brewed coffee or a delicious hot chocolate from Mobjack Bay Coffee Roasters. Paired with a homemade pastry and a smile from their friendly staff, you and the kids are now ready to explore our charming town. 

The next thing on your agenda is a visit to the Riverwalk Landing to take a family photo by the town Christmas tree. Linus and Snoopy give it their seal of approval, and the views of the York River are spectacular. More photo opportunities await by the decorated LOVE Letters or with a popular Segway tour from Patriot Tours and Provisions. As you cruise along the scenic waterfront and take in the historic sights, it might be hard to resist the urge to shout, “Yippee-ki-yay!” We encourage you to go for it!

After working up an appetite, stop in to dine at one of our many restaurants. We’ve got burgers, pizza, sushi, seafood, pasta, and more! As you continue to peruse the picturesque streets, don’t be surprised if you run into jolly old St. Nicholas. He is known to stop by in early December to pose for pictures and march in our annual Toyland Parade.
