Yorktown’s Wine Festival Still Has a Ticket with Your Name on It!
Just like a good bottle of wine—this annual event just keeps getting better with age. On Saturday, October 5 from 12 to 6 p.m., you can once again expect to experience The Best of Virginia and Beyond, and all against the most beautiful backdrop that is the Yorktown waterfront.
Almost 20 different Virginia vineyards, wineries, cideries, and breweries will make the trek to Riverwalk Landing bearing some pretty exciting varieties including seasonal specialties, limited-edition releases, and even some new products.
Let's start by announcing this year's participating wineries—featuring unlimited tastings!
- Effingham Winery
- Good Luck Cellars
- Grayhaven Winery
- Hampton Roads Winery
- Lake Anna Winery
- Mattaponi Winery
- Peaks of Otter Winery
- Pearmund Cellars
- Prince Michel Vineyard & Winery
- Rebec Vineyards

- Vintner’s Cellar Winery of Yorktown
- Williamsburg Winery
- Copper Fox Distillery
Continuing with the traditional nod to our sister cities of Port-Vendres and Zweibrücken, we're also going to bring a taste of Europe straight to you! If you like sweeter wines, you'll love the Rieslings from Germany, and if you're a fan of bubbly, you can indulge in sparkling wines from France.
France: Francois Montand Sparkling Rosé, Mont Gravet Carignan, Chateau de Fontenille Bordeaux, and Maison Joseph Burrier Chateau de Beauregard Saint Veran
Germany: Dr. Loosen Riesling, Villa Wolf Gewurztraminer, Villa Wolf Dornfelder, and Dr. Heyden Pinot Noir
Don't expect to only see traditional reds, whites, and rosés. Our festival will also feature unique samplings like a pumpkin-flavored mead, sweet red chocolate wine, hard ciders in bold flavors like ginger-peach, sangria, mulled spiced wine, and even wine slushies!
Still aren't quite sold yet? Well, the options don't stop there! Included with your wine ticket (especially for that spouse, friend, or family member who isn't necessarily a fan of vino) is admission to our Virginia Craft Beer Garden set up down by the Water Street Grille Fountain.
Your event ticket gets you 20 pours with the option to also purchase full cups of your favorite brews, including Alewerks Brewing Company's Pumpkin Spiced Ale and Superb IPA; Billsburg Brewery's NEW Ofest and Betty Hefe; Bold Rocks's Harvest Haze Cider and its NEW Cucumber Melon Hard Seltzer; Devils Backbone Brewery's Vienna Lager and Gold Leaf Lager; Larry's Original Hard Lemonade's Original and Pink flavors; and St. George Brewing Company's English Style IPA and London Porter.
As always, be sure to bring your appetite. Several food trucks and food vendors will be on site selling everything from seafood to BBQ. Look for Boyd’s Tasty Dogs; Caribbean Styled Baked Goods/ISLSNAC; The Great Wicomico Oyster Company; Kathi’s Clam Chowder; Nothing Bundt Cakes; Pop’s Kettle Corn; Riverwalk Restaurant; SMOKE BBQ; The Scottish Pig; and VA Blue Crab.
Grab a seat along the Riverwalk and enjoy your lunch and wine purchases while you jam out to an amazing line-up of entertainment. This year will feature three different bands! Vinyl Headlights performed in our 2018 Sounds of Summer concert series and will return to the stage to kick things off at 12:30, cranking out a variety of rock, pop, dance, country, and hip-hop hits. Party Fins. who recently strummed out some Jimmy Buffett Classics during this year's concert series, is ready to bring the beach music to the waterfront at 3:30. And from 1 to 5 p.m., The Bryan Forrest Band will provide the tunes down at the Virginia Craft Beer Garden.
Some would argue a Wine Festival wouldn't be complete without some fun souvenirs. Dozens of vendors will be set up selling fun T-shirts, handmade soaps, stained glass art, and custom jewelry.
Insider Tip: Tickets are $30 in advance. If you buy them in person at eight different locations throughout the county, there's no extra fee. Purchasing them online does cost a little extra. They are $35 at the gate on the day of the festival, if the event hasn't sold out before then. For a complete list of ticket locations, visit www.villageevents.org or call 757.877.2933.
All of the proceeds from ticket sales go to two local not-for-profit organizations: York Foundation for Public Education and the Victory Family YMCA!
